Iran supplies lethal weapons to Russia for Ukraine war

Iran has long been a source of destabilisation in the Near and Middle East, and Russia has deliberately helped Iran’s nuclear programme as much as it could. This partnership has led to the fact that almost immediately after Russia launched its war of aggression against Ukraine, Iran failed to condemn Russia and to the contrary began to provide it with all kinds of support, including weapons. For example, last year the Russian army received 400 Iranian UAVs, which were used to strike critical infrastructure in Ukraine. The total order was 2,400 such drones. The sharply increasing number of missile and drone attacks (Russia has so far carried out 13 such strikes during May) on Ukrainian cities suggests that a new batch of Iranian UAVs has arrived in Russia. In addition to UAVs, Iran supplies Russia with ammunition, shells, and uniforms — all the things Russian troops need on the front line. Iranian arms deliveries are causing more casualties among Ukrainian civilians and prolonging the war.

The alliance between Russia and Iran is a challenge to the civilised world. Russia is preparing for the second phase of the war and enlisting the support of allies — one of which is Iran, which supports the Russian army in every possible way. This challenge cannot be ignored — both terrorist states should receive comprehensive sanctions that will drain their economies and deprive them of technological self-sufficiency — a contribution to the security of the civilised world.
