US far-right media to open Polish franchise with Serbian backing


The controversy is not only about its right-wing profile but also concerns that the channel could favour Poland’s Law and Justice (PiS) party or the far-right Confederation.

Last year, Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lucic signalled that the station could start airing in April 2026. The station has begun recruiting personnel, but the launch does not seem imminent.

The European Parliament has repeatedly criticised the Serbian telecom group and media regulators for the company’s dominant position in the country’s media landscape.

Poland is due to hold parliamentary elections in autumn 2027. Polls indicate that Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s liberal coalition has lost its majority, with support shifting towards far-right parties.
